A new mining legislation voted by the Senate
The Senate voted last Wednesday in Kinshasa, during a plenary session chaired by Leon Kengo wa Dondo, the bill amending and supplementing the law of 11 July 2002 on the Mining Code, after having adopted the related report of its commission economic, financial and good governance.
The general legislation on mines and hydrocarbons following the ordinances of April 2, 1981 and November 5, 1982 having proved to be unattractive to investments in relation to its customs and foreign exchange regime, the Mining Code had been established by the French law. July 11, 2002.
